Second Book of Riddles

Hello. Here are 20 new riddles.

The answers are given at the end.

These riddles are going to be put

into a new book soon.

There will be 77 riddles.

Hatman

1.

Powder left by flame,
Three letters in my name.
 

2.
I blow
without moving
a muscle
and houses
tremble
and trees rustle.

 

3. a nosey
     noise

       in deep
         sleep.
 

4.

Sprayed or drawn or painted on walls –

brilliant patterns? Or terrible scrawls?

  
5.
You’re at fault if you don’t halt

               when I am the colour of blood.

 

Just hold steady and get ready

when I am the colour of gold.

 
Time to go? You may pass
when I am the colour of grass.

6.    bright               silent
           bell            hung
          upside         down
         on                   firm
           green          rope
                 in spring
                    time

7.                Of land I’m made,
                     of dry ground,
                 a ring of water
                     all around.

 
8.

If you're iron, I'll

   repel or attract you,

with a slap as sharp

 as if I'd attacked you.
  
9.

I am that line you sort of see

between sea or land, and sky.

but you’ll never succeed in reaching me

no matter how hard you try.

 

10.

Your hand can move me easily

 on my kind of cosy mat

but don’t take me anywhere

 near any kind of cat.

This kind of dream

Can make you scream.

Each

   time
      I
       grin
         so
          does

ME.

Waddling in my morning suit

on polar ice, don’t I look cute?

But when I dive into the sea,

fishes, beware. Beware of me.

A tree has a tall one                                                           

that grows and grows.

 
So does an elephant
instead of a nose.
 
It squirts and blows
like a thick hose.
 

15.

With my rosy cheeks, don’t I look cute?
but am I a vegetable or a fruit?
 
16.

I rumble and tumble and

    stains disappear.

I swish and I rinse and

   clean things appear.        
 
17.

     I’ll give you a red

     or a yellow card

     and I’ll send you off

     if you tackle too hard.

     Hey, little longtail,

     I’ll have your head.

    Just nip my bait!

     And I’ve gotcha – dead!

 
19.

     I coil on your lawn,

     a long green snake.

     Swish water through me

     if you want me to wake.


     Then I’ll jolt and jet

     and sprinkle and shower,

     Get grass soaking wet

     And drench every flower.

  
20.

     Water, water,

        firmly bound

           by solid land

              all around.
